Raccoon dog – an exotic varmint opens the Finnish hunting season

That funny furbearered animal that breeds like rabbit, hibernates like bear, stays over winter in dens like badger, moves on wetlands as raccoon, lives in couples like swans but belongs to family Canidae as it is related to foxes – and its hunting season opens on August 1^st.

Hunting raccoon dogs, red foxes and badgers over food baits is a nice way to start your hunting season and experience the finnish nature at its best. Hunting is done mainly from tree stands and both bows and firearms can be used in the hunts.
